Love Aubrey is a touching book. Aubrey will make you cry, she will make you smile and she will stay with you forever. I haven’t finished the book but it makes me feel fascinated and draws me in. The book makes me feel sad because she has a lot of drama going on in her life, and because I know that the chapter is over but then happy because there is another chapter.
In the book, Aubrey is a lonely child who needs some more company in her life. I think Aubrey’s grandmothers is very nice as she came all the way from Vermont to Virginia and she doesn’t like to travel very much and because she came to look after Aubrey. Aubrey had bought a little tiny fish who she called Sammy to keep her company when she was lonely.
I think that the author, Suzanne LaFleur, could have changed the setting from Virginia to a more common place. The author could have also described the setting in more detail and used more techniques, such as a simile or metaphor. I think that this is a dramatic book as she was lonely and she had no one else apart from her fish. This book could also be an adventure book because she goes on a lot of adventures.
I would not recommend this book for people who are dramatic. When I stop reading, it leaves me in suspense (a cliff-hanger) Aubrey is a lonely girl as she has been abandoned.
Does she get help?
Does any of her family ever show up?
What will happen to Aubrey?
I would give this book a rating of 4/5 because it is very interesting. I love the suspense however, I think that there could have been a little bit more description. I recommend this book to the ages of 12-16
